School Holiday Workshops Recap – Fun with The Feathers of Farwood!

School holidays were a HOOT! – full of magic, creativity, and curious young readers! I had the pleasure of hosting workshops at two wonderful Queensland bookstores, connecting with children and parents alike over The Feathers of Farwood.

At Quick Brown Fox Bookshop in Grange (Brisbane), it was fantastic to spend the morning chatting about my new book. We explored how I find inspiration in the natural environment, from forests to local wildlife, and got hands-on with owl craft, an in-store feather hunt, and activity sheets.

Signed copies of The Feathers of Farwood BOOK ONE are now available at the store, making it the perfect spot to pick up a special gift for a young reader.

A few days earlier, over a dozen enthusiastic guests joined me at Rosetta Books in Maleny for a creative workshop. We drew, wrote, and discovered our own ‘Gripps animals’.

The kids’ imagination and energy were infectious, and it was such a joy to see them dive into Farwood’s world. Huge thanks to the team at Rosetta Books for making the day so welcoming and fun.

It’s always a privilege to meet readers in person and see their excitement for books come alive. From sharing the story to answering curious questions, these workshops reminded me why storytelling is such a powerful and joyful experience.

If you missed these sessions, don’t worry – I’m now open for school visits, library events, and interactive workshops across Queensland. Kids can discover the magic of The Feathers of Farwood while exploring creative writing, world-building techniques, character creations, and the inspiration behind the story.

Calling Queensland Teachers, Booksellers, and Librarians

I’d love to bring the magic of The Feathers of Farwood to more schools and libraries across the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane. If you have eager readers aged 8–12 who love animal adventures, mysteries, themes of family and friendship, magical realism, or exploring the natural world, please get in touch. Let’s create an interactive and inspiring experience your students won’t forget!
