Bio – longer version
Jayne McIntyre is a children’s author and marketing professional based on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, Queensland. With a passion for storytelling and a knack for bringing characters to life, Jayne crafts adventurous and magical tales (with an Aussie twist) that captivate young readers aged 8-12.
Her debut middle-grade book series, The Feathers of Farwood, is a three-book deal with Riveted Press, with the first book set for release in early 2026. The manuscript was shortlisted for the prestigious Text Prize in 2024.
Drawing inspiration from the natural environment (bush to beach), this thrilling new series showcases Australian landscapes and animals. Owls feature at the heart of The Feathers of Farwood, with themes of family, friendship, overcoming obstacles, and finding one’s place.
From a young age, Jayne was drawn to the power of words, which led her to pursue a Bachelor of Journalism at the University of Queensland. Over the years, she has built a diverse career spanning roles as a print and web editor, copywriter, and Marketing Manager.
Her experience in media and publishing has given her a deep understanding of how to connect with audiences, a skill she now applies to both her marketing career and her fiction writing. She is currently Marketing Manager for Sunshine Coast business The Laundry Lady, which operates across Australia and New Zealand.
When she isn’t busy dreaming up new worlds, plotting twists, or perfecting her latest manuscript, you’ll find Jayne participating in events like the Sunshine Coast (Half) Marathon, local Parkrun, or Noosa Ultra Trail, curled up with a great book, or spending quality time with her husband and two children.
