Last month, I wrote about goal setting, and how my approach to running training is similar my outlook on writing – ‘It’s a marathon, not a sprint’ and all that.
I also shared my milestone moment of signing up for my first ever Ultra-Trail. Yes, it was only 15km (not quite a marathon…yet) but it was a whole new challenge for me. I had to be physically and mentally fit, and slot training in around my day job, kids, and writing.
I’m pleased to say I clocked in under my personal goal time for the Noosa Ultra-Trail, and crossed the finish line with a smile on my face.
From the stunning hinterland course and ever-helpful volunteers to the post-run snacks, the event was really well run and I can’t wait for it to return to the South East’s bumper sporting calendar in 2023.
Up next…the Sunshine Coast Marathon in August.

What are your goals (sporting, writing, or otherwise) for the month, or year, ahead?
